‘‘A bold push to attract French-speaking newcomers and grow Francophone life beyond Quebec’’
In a significant move aimed at supporting the vitality of Francophone communities outside Quebec, the Government of Canada has announced over $9.3 million in funding for 12 new projects focused on boosting economic development and immigration in minority French-speaking regions.
This investment, revealed earlier today by federal officials, is a key part of Canada’s broader immigration strategy for 2025–2027. The goal: to strengthen French-speaking communities across the country while contributing to Canada’s overall economic and demographic growth.
“These projects are about more than just dollars — they’re about building strong, vibrant communities where French can flourish outside of Quebec,” said a spokesperson for Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
The new initiatives are designed to:
- Support the recruitment and selection of French-speaking immigrants.
- Assist newcomers on their path to permanent residency.
